The folks at KRISPY KREME are helping high school and college seniors whose graduations have been canceled due to the coronavirus plague. USA Today reports participating locations are giving a “Graduate Dozen” box of donuts for free to grads for a week beginning Monday, May 18, thru May 24. The box reportedly comes with several assorted flavors, including cake batter filled, chocolate iced with sprinkles, strawberry iced with sprinkles, yellow iced and chocolate iced kreme-filled original glazed doughnuts. To qualify, though, you'll have to bring something along like your school ID, class ring or a cap and gown with a 2020 tassel, or a T-shirt, sweatshirt, or other apparel that says “Class of 2020.”
Ever wanted to play with the US Marine Corps Band? Now you can, as the American Bandmasters Association and the United States Marine Band are doing a special online event and asking students --or anyone with an instrument-- to play JOHN PHILIP SOUSA’s marches “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” and “The Thunderer” along with them. You can download the sheet music (for free) and then play along on Wednesday, May 27, at 1 pm (Eastern) on youtube.com/usmarineband. Details are on the Facebook page; you can download the music here.
These days, those online video chats are the way we all keep in touch with friends. But --are you all "Zoomed out" by now? Do you dress up for the computer chat room? Is it a bit odd to see everybody apparently staring at you from the screen (even though they're looking at whoever's talking)?
See more about Zoom burnout here.
Probably a decent topic for a listener poll...
If you're wondering whether movies will ever get produced, you're not alone. But there is hope. Variety reports some of the film “Matrix 4” has already been shot and Warner Brothers says they're hopeful production will restart by early July. The film, which has KEANU REEVES and CARRIE-ANNE MOSS back again, could roll out sometime next year... but we'll see if that happens.
It shouldn't come as any surprise that cruises with music stars have been canceled as well as normal cruise line ships until the fall --or, in some cases, until next year.
Rolling Stone reports the KISS Kruise, KESHA’s Weird and Wonderful Rainbow Ride 2, the MELISSA ETHERIDGE Cruise IV and COHEED and CAMBRIA’s S.S. Neverender have all been rescheduled for next fall. The KISS cruise also featured sets from QUEENSRYCHE and RATT as well.
